Preparing Pittsburgh:Human Trafficking Prevention during the NFL Draft

Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - DowntownPittsburgh, PA
Saturday, April 18  •  12 PM - 1:30 PM
Overview

Multidisciplinary panel on preventing human trafficking during large-scale events and population surges in Pittsburgh.

Building on the powerful dialogue from our previous panel at Carlow University, this next conversation moves from awareness to proactive preparation.

As Pittsburgh prepares to host major events and experience increased tourism and population surges, prevention must be intentional and coordinated.

Join us for a multidisciplinary panel discussion featuring leaders from law enforcement, advocacy, public safety, and community sectors as we examine:

  • How large-scale events can increase vulnerabilities for exploitation
  • What coordinated response looks like in practice
  • How public safety, service providers, and community institutions work together
  • The role businesses and residents play in prevention

This discussion continues our commitment to moving beyond awareness toward practical, citywide readiness.

Date: April 18
Time: 12:00–1:30 PM
Location: Carnegie Library (Downtown)

Following the panel, join us at Eden’s Farm from 3:00–5:00 PM for a community social to continue the conversation and learn how you can support prevention efforts during the NFL Draft.

Community Social

Date: April 18
Time: 3:00– 5:00 PM

Together, we can prepare responsibly — and protect the dignity and safety of our community.
